Since 2016, we have had a secret, beautiful, tiny showroom in the heart of Stockholm where you can book 45 min to see, try and shop from our full collection.
Read more about our Showroom here and book your own meeting here!
We have found that the most successful meetings often correlate with some preparations.
We suggest that you spend some time on our instagram and website, scroll through as many different jewelry on Pinterest as possible, and even do some research by visiting other fine jewelry stores beforehand.
This preparation can make all the difference between leaving the Showroom happy and fulfilled - or leaving not exactly sure if you've made the right choice.
You need to spend time seeing jewelry to get to know your taste, especially if you are a beginner within the world of fine jewelry!
If you still have not booked a meeting in our showroom, you can do it here.
When booking a slot in our Showroom, you will find the current available slots. In general, we are open every Saturday and Friday for booking. If you would like to visit us at a time slot that we are not open, for example in the middle of the week, we can usually accommodate that. Please email showroom@mumbaistockholm.com to book a meeting in the middle of the week.
The fee promises you that you will receive the same experience regardless of if you would end up shopping with us or not!
(If you make a purchase during your meeting, the booking fee is deducted on the price of your jewelry.)

If it is a vintage jewelry you have inherited and are ready to sell on auction, please email us to online@mumbaistockholm.com and we will appraise it for you and may also help selling it for you. Otherwise, we will send you to a trusted auction site where you can sell it!
If it is a Mumbai jewelry that you purchased many years ago and now are ready to upgrade for something new, then please use our process for handing in your old mumbai jewelry and receive store credit.
Unfortunately not! Please continue reading to find out why.
Many of our customers have old jewelry that already have beautiful gemstones set in them.
Gemstones are natural material that are affected by what happens to them during their lifetime. When you unset a stone from a piece of jewelry, for example a vintage ring, it is highly risky and sometimes impossible to set it in a new piece of jewelry without damaging the whole gemstone.
This is why we usually recommend that you never re-use a gemstone that have already been set in a jewelry, but instead to give it away, hand it down or sell the jewelry on the vintage market or at a fine jewelry auction. Use the proceeds to invest in a new and personal jewelry piece that feels perfect for you!
We source all our both new, repurposed and antique gemstones from established suppliers through a strictly controlled industry-regulated process, and never buy from customers directly. We do this to ensure the quality, origin and authenticity of every gemstone we use.
The recycled gold that we use to make all new Mumbai jewelry has first undergone an extensive cleaning process before it arrives to our studio. It needs to be processed through this extensive cleaning process (that a third-party company does for us) before we can use it in new jewelry. During this process, all metal alloys are blended together, separated and then mixed into yellow gold, white gold, rose gold etc. again. The gold will be blended together with other metals in this process, and it will not be possible to trace "your" gold since it will be diluted with all other metals in the recycling process.
The result of this extensive refinement & cleaning process is that the new jewelry is of the highest possible quality!
(Common problems with jewelry made from recycled gold that has not been going through an extensive cleaning process first, is that there may surface hidden pores or air bubbles after some months or years of usage.)
Yes, you can recycle your old gold with us when you make a purchase with us. (We don't purchase gold from private persons.)
However, please know that the gold you hand in to us will be blended together with other metals in this process, and it will not be possible to trace "your" gold since it will be diluted with all other metals in the recycling process.
Your gold will end up in the beautiful Swedish recycling system for metals, but will not end up in your new Mumbai jewelry!
If you wish to keep your grandfather's old wedding ring, we suggest you go to your local goldsmith and for example set small diamonds in the ring band! Pimp it and repurpose it, rather than melt it :)
Early we made it our company's priority to develop our own sourcing process for selecting gemstones, and to always choose the highest quality, natural gemstones we could find. Today, thanks to this, we can proudly say that we are part of the group of industry actors that source and sell some of the most beautiful gemstone jewelry in Sweden!
All our gemstones go through a careful selection process followed by a precise cutting! We take pride in only delivering stones with the highest possible quality of cut and polish. This is why a mumbaistockholm gemstone always have a beautiful sparkle.
Often we source raw, natural stones that we then cut into gemstones in Sweden, Sri Lanka or Bangkok depending on which gemstone it is and the complexity of the cut.
Our diamonds come from Antwerp, the diamond hub of Europe. We only source diamonds from 0.30 CT and above that has been certified by GIA, Gemology Institute of America.
Sourcing our own gemstones help us to ensure that no unethically sourced gemstones ever pass our studios!
We use mineral gemstones in our jewelry.
Gem-quality minerals may in theory be found almost anywhere - however they only surface in sufficient quantities to make mining a worthy operation in certain geographical locations such as Brazil, South Africa, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Myanmar.
Our gemstones come from all over the world, but for some stones we have specific sourcing places:
- Morganites: For round Morganites, we have our own partnership with a miner in Nigeria. For emerald-cut morganites, we buy on the regular market for morganites in Mozambique.
- Tourmalines: our dark green Tourmalines are cut from raw Tourmaline rocks found in Nigeria and Afghanistan. These places are together with Namibia and Brazil the four places where you find the most beautiful dark green Tourmalines, that has a natural hint of blue in the green colour.
- Light Blue Sapphires: we source our light blue Sapphires in Sri Lanka, where we also have a partnership with a highly developed cutting facility.
All our gemstones are formed by nature, as opposed to synthetic gemstones that are grown in a lab.
We put hours and hours into the sourcing process of our gemstones, with the goal to find the most beautiful, natural stones there is.
There is a lot of curiosity and misinformation about the difference between natural and synthetic gemstones in the market, so we wrote a 10-page guide about it that you can read here. In this guide, you will also learn why we decided to not use synthetic diamonds or other man-made gemstones in our jewelry, and only use natural gemstones.
It is common to put also natural gemstones under various treatments to enhance their natural colours, and thus make lower quality gemstones seem more beautiful. We strive to deliver gemstones that have been going under as little treatment as possible.
No! All our diamonds are conflict-free and certified according to the Kimberley Process (KP). The Kimberley Process unites administrations, civil societies and industry in reducing the flow of conflict diamonds around the world.
We follow the industry standards and provide certificate for your diamonds of 0.30 CT and upwards. We only purchase diamonds that are certified by the Gemology Institute of America (GIA Certificate).
The certificates for gemstones other than diamonds are not as widely spread yet.
A reason for this is that the popularity of gemstones other than diamonds have increased only in recent years.
Another reason is that the market risks such as fake stones and unethical sourcing processes are more common among diamonds, and thus increasing the need for a certification process to ensure ethical stones.
Having said this, we do offer the option for you to let your gemstone undergo a reporting process and provide a certificate. Please contact us to receive more information!
Yes! We only use recycled gold in our jewelry.
We offer all our jewelry in 18K Yellow Gold, Rose Gold and White Gold.
The yellow gold colour we use is the one named "rödguld mellanfärg", which is the standard yellow gold colour used in Sweden. It has a light gold colour which pairs beautifully to any colour of gemstone.
Yes, most of our jewelry pieces can be made in platinum! Please contact us to have your jewelry custom-made in platinum.
We buy our gold from the Swedish authorized industry actors that are specialised in collecting, cleaning and re-blending fine gold in Scandinavia. This way, we can ensure that all the gold we use are 100% recycled and come from a trusted source.
This also ensures that all mumbaistockholm jewelry holds our standard of purity of the gold, as well as the light gold colour that is significant to a mumbaistockholm jewelry piece.
Unfortunately, we do not buy gold from private persons.
Guldbrev offers a safe way of recycling your old gold jewelry and receive a market price per gram. For this you can invest in new, beautiful, recycled jewelry from mumbaistockholm or another ethical jewelry brand!
If you have jewelry with gemstones, please see above Questions & Answers "What Should I Do With My Old Fine Jewelry?"
Turn around your jewelry piece and look for the stamp “MUM”. This is our Certificate of Responsibility from the Swedish gold authority that ensures that it is a true mumbaistockholm jewelry piece!
We can proudly say that all our jewelry are made from start to finish in Sweden, including the setting of the stones!
We currently occupy five gold smith studios spread over Sweden. After the jewelry is done, each piece passes through our showroom in Stockholm for a second quality control by fresh eyes, before it's shipped to you.
We are a minimum-waste company and our goal since the start has been to only create jewelry that are meant to be worn by a person. We strive to have zero over-production. This is a unique goal that we are able to fulfill thanks to our production process that is optimized for creating made-to-order, customized fine jewelry at a medium-high pace. We purchase every gram of recycled gold and each gemstone as per your order.
The process from order to finished & shipped jewelry looks like this:
1. When you place your order, your jewelry is placed in the production que in chronological order. The earlier you place your order, the higher up it comes in the production que. Depending on the number of orders, you can be in this que for 2-3 day up to two weeks.
2. When the turn comes for your jewelry to be crafted, we start the crafting process in the studio. This may normally take around 2-3 weeks depending on the complexity of your piece and how many gemstones are to be set.
3. We then save 1-2 weeks for quality control and potential adjustments before shipping it to you.
Sometimes one or all three of these stages may go faster. This is why we sometimes can offer faster production than our standard delivery times! Please see next question.
What makes our delivery time long is the production time of your piece. If you are short on time, we offer a few options:
1. As you might know, we do not have a stock of jewelry ready to be shipped. However, as you might also know - we have a showroom filled with jewelry! These are all for show and meant to be seen and tried by customers, and usually we have only one piece of each style (please see our standard sizes below). However, to accomodate hurried orders, we offer you the possibility to buy a showroom ring, at the same price as a normal piece, and have it shipped to you within 2-3 days. Email us in advance by clicking the mail icon in the bottom right corner to see what jewelry we currently have in our showroom!
2. Email us in advance and ask what jewelry we can currently produce and deliver on short notice (1-3 weeks). In general, these include single stone rings and rings with diamonds. Other gemstones than diamonds may often take extra time to source, hence it is difficult to speed up this process.
Standard sizes of showroom rings:For women, most of the showroom rings are in size 17,25/54 or 18 but there are also some smaller sizes. For men, the sizes of showroom rings ranges from 18,5-21. Many of the rings are possible to size adjust. Please note that size adjustments add a cost of 600 SEK/approx €60.
Yes! Each piece passes trough at least two very tough quality controls, before it is shipped to its new owner. This include controlling the colour and sparkle of the gemstone, the details of the stonesetting, the engravement inside the ring, the size, that there are no visible marks or scratches that has happened after we put the last finishing touches in the studio - and finally that the overall look of your jewelry is beautiful and stunning!
Have you received a product that is not what you expected or that doesn't match the above criterias? Please contact us immediately upon receiving your jewelry, at the email address you received when placing your order!

Common customisations of our existing jewelry include:
Please email us by clicking the mail icon in the bottom right corner if you would like to get started with customising a piece from our collection. We are happy to send you pictures of our current selection of gemstones, and examples of customisations we have done!
Unfortunately, here comes the boring answer: by trying it out in a jewelry shop. To know your true ring size - the size that feels comfortable and really find a ring that fits you perfectly - you need to try many rings on your finger andf feel what feels right for you. Some people love the rings a bit looser, while some want them to snug your finger. This is very personal and hence should be tried out carefully!
First of all - don't worry! Almost every ring can be adjusted in size. Please contact us immediately upon receiving your jewelry, at the email address you received when placing your order. For sizing adjustment, we charge a cost-based price of 600 SEK/approx €60.
However, for the rings with a product description that says "This jewelry is not possible to adjust the size of upon receiving your order", the resizing process will be more complicated in the studio and hence the price will be higher and is depended on the hours of work in the studio.
Yes, even our tiniest rings can be engraved! We use both laser engraving and customized engraving by hand.
When you place your order during a showroom visit, we offer complementary laser engraving. When you place your order online, you can add standard laser engraving to your order for 600 SEK/approx. €60. We offer both letter and symbols. The standard symbols available are: ♡, ∞ For other symbols please ask us and we may be able to accommodate it!
For customized engraving by hand, please contact us when placing your order! The price will vary depending on the complexity of the pattern of the engraving. The best thing with hand engraving is that you can engrave whatever you would like since it is made on free hand!

However, if you contact us within 24 hours after placing your order, we will be able to offer you a full refund and cancel your order. This holds for all orders placed online, in the showroom or via email.
You can usually make minor changes to your order, such as engravement, until we are in the studio stage of the crafting process, which is usually around 2-3 weeks after you placed your order.
*As soon as possible after your order is placed, we order the gold and the gemstone to the goldsmith studios. Then we start the crafting process.
We offer a lot of guidance and advice via email and in our showroom before the purchase, to avoid any over-spontaneous or wrong purchases. Please contact us by clicking the mail icon in the bottom right corner to get a Personal Jewelry Shopper onboard!

Oh no! We do everything we can to make you happy. Most often we can make adjustments that will change the fit or the look of your jewelry so you will fall in love with it!
Before shipping a jewelry piece to a customer, it passes trough at least two very tough quality controls. This include controlling the colour and sparkle of the gemstone, the details of the stonesetting, the engravement inside the ring, the size, that there are no visible marks or scratches that has happened after we put the last finishing touches in the studio - and finally that the overall look of your jewelry is beautiful and stunning!
If you feel the your jewelry doesn't match these criterias - do not hesitate to contact us immediately upon receiving your jewelry, at the email address you received when placing your order.
We offer a life-long warranty on manufacturing faults for all mumbaistockholm jewelry pieces. This include that the gold, the designs and the gemstones holds a certain quality. mumbaistockholm jewelry is meant to be worn!
Gold and precious gemstones are all natural materials - meaning that they do respond to external pressures. If you are about to engage in an activity where you feel that your jewelry might be in the way - then it is probably a sign that you should take it off during this activity!
Having said this - fine jewelry should be worn and loved!
From time to time, we receive jewelry from customers who have got stuck in doorframes, forgot to take rings off during boxing or simply been wearing it in situations so that the ring isn't - well - exactly new anymore! Don’t worry! In almost all cases we only need a couple of weeks in the studio and the jewelry will look brand new again. We’d rather have you wear the jewelry - than worrying about it.
Depending on what needs to be done, this service doesn’t cost anything, however if you loose a large stone for example, you will need to pay for the replacement of the stone.
Please note that the above mentioned service - and any eventual cost that incurs - is a subject of a case by case assessment by us (mumbaistockholm AB) as it is not a manufacturing fault and hence not covered by the warranty.
However, we can proudly say that the majority of our customers praise us for our very personal, high-level service - to help you is our biggest priority!
Most pieces are covered by your normal home insurance - however, please contact your insurance company to make sure that you are completely covered. They will tell you details such as what the highest allowed value for a single jewelry piece is.
For example; you might be insured for a total value of your jewelry collection summing up to €30 000, but with a single jewelry piece allowed to be worth at the most €2500 for the home insurance to hold. Then you might need to add an extra insurance on top of that, to insure certain high-value jewelry pieces separately. Most often your home insurance will be able to guide you on this, and might as well offer this extra insurance.
These are important details that your insurance company will help you with, to make sure that you are fully insured and safe! The most important thing is that you feel free and happy to wear your jewelry at any time.
