Yes, our gemstones are completely natural. It is common to put gemstones under various treatments to enhance their natural colours, and thus make lower quality gemstones look more beautiful. We can proudly confirm that we put hours and hours into the sourcing process of our gemstones, with the goal to find the most beautiful, natural stones there is. A green tourmaline from us had exactly that colour when it was found in the cave - the only treatment it has gone through is careful selection process followed by a precise cutting! We take pride in only deliver stones with the highest possible quality of cut and polish. This is why a mumbaistockholm gemstone always have a beautiful sparkle.
Please note: There are a few cases in which the traceability of a gemstone is so bleary that it is nearly impossible to trace the sourcing from the mine to the cutter. These gemstones with an almost non-existing traceability (in particular the part of the chain from the mine to the cutter) include black diamonds and morganites. This is why we have developed a partnership with a miner in Nigeria, where we cut the 6 mm round morganites we use in our Lucy Rings. For the 6x8 mm emerald-cut morganites we use the regular market for morganites which is Mozambique - however these morganites may or may not have gone under treatment. For black diamonds, we are pushing the stone suppliers for higher and better standards. For this reason, we suggest that you avoid these two particular gemstones and choose another of our beautiful gemstones, if you are concerned about the complete naturality of your stone.
No! All our diamonds are conflict-free and certified according to the Kimberley Process (KP). The Kimberley Process unites administrations, civil societies and industry in reducing the flow of conflict diamonds around the world.
We follow the industry standards and provide certificate for your diamonds of 0.30 CT and upwards. We only purchase diamonds that are certified by the Gemology Institute of America (GIA Certificate), which is the most well-renowned certification institute in the world.
The certificates for gemstones other than diamonds are not as widely spread yet. A reason for this is that the popularity of gemstones other than diamonds have increased only in recent years. Another reason is that the market risks such as fake stones and unethical sourcing processes are more common among diamonds, and thus increasing the need for a certification process to ensure ethical stones. Having said this, we do offer the option for you to let your gemstone undergo a reporting process and provide a certificate, but please note that this process might incur a cost that is higher than the value of the stone itself. Please contact us to receive more information!
We offer all our jewelry pieces in the following material: 18K Yellow Gold, Rose Gold and White Gold.
The yellow gold colour we use is the one named "rödguld mellanfärg", which is the standard yellow gold colour used in Sweden. It has a light gold colour which pairs beautifully to any colour of gemstone.
Unfortunately, we do not use customers' old gold and gemstones. There are several reasons for why we don't use gemstones that we have not sourced ourselves:
a) we need to ensure that the quality, origin and authenticity of each stone matches our highly set standards (e.g. regarding ethical sourcing)
b) we need to ensure that there is no hidden damage to the stone that will be revealed when the stone is released from its original setting
c) there is always a risk that a gemstone might become damaged when it is set in a new piece of jewelry. This is due to the pressure from the prongs. This can happen with both old and new gemstones! Especially older stones often have small, sometimes invisible cracks and it is therefore a huge risk when taking a stone from its old setting and placing it into a new one. When we have sourced the stone, we can take full responsibility for the replacement of the stone if it gets damaged in the stonesetting process. However, when using a customer’s old stone, there is unfortunately no possibility for us to replace the stone if it would be damaged during the jewelry making process.
The recycled gold we use has undergone an extensive cleaning process before it arrives to our studio. This ensures that the new jewelry will be of the highest possible quality, with no hidden pores or air bubbles that can arise if the gold hasn't first undergone this refinement and cleaning process. If you do have old gold jewelry that you want to hand in and have recycled, we are happy to help you with this. Please contact us before your purchase or your showroom visit!
Unfortunately, we do not buy gold from private persons.
We are happy to assist you if you do have old gold jewelry that you want to hand in and have recycled!
Guldbrev offer a safe way of recycling your old gold jewelry and receive a market price per gram. For this you can invest in new, beautiful, recycled jewelry from mumbaistockholm or another ethical jewelry brand!
We buy all our gold from Norsk Svensk Guld (NSG), an authorised industry actor that is specialised in collecting, cleaning and re-blending fine gold in Sweden and Scandinavia. This way, we can ensure that all the gold we use are 100% recycled and come from a trusted source. This also ensures that all mumbaistockholm jewelry holds our standard of purity of the gold, as well as the light gold colour that is significant to a mumbaistockholm jewelry piece.

We do charge a booking fee of €45 (45 Euro) to book a slot. Should you decide to make a purchase during your meeting, you will receive this booking fee back as a reduction on the price of your jewelry.
There are several reasons for why charge a booking fee. The two main are:
First, since we only offer a few meetings per day, we want to be sure that the appointment slots are saved for YOU.
Second, during the years we have been open, we have found that the most successful meetings where you leave with a feeling of that you really purchased your long-time dream piece of jewelry, often correlate with some preparations. Spend some time on our instagram and website, on Pinterest, do some research and you will come really prepared to your meeting with a feeling of your taste. Even though you often end up buying another piece than you thought you came to the showroom for (yes, that happens more often than not!) - this preparation can make all the difference between leaving happy and fulfilled or leaving really not sure if you made the right choice!
We are a minimum-waste company and our goal since the start has been not to create any jewelry that are not meant for a person. We strive to have zero percent over-production! This is a unique goal for a retail company, but something that we are able to fulfill thanks to our production process that is optimized for creating made-to-order, customized fine jewelry at a high pace. We buy every piece of recycled gold and every stone as per your order.
The process from order to finished & shipped jewelry looks like this:
1. When you place your order, your jewelry is placed in the production que in chronological order. The earlier you place your order, the higher up it comes in the production que. Depending on the number of orders, you can be in this que for 2-3 day up to two weeks.
2. When the turn comes for your jewelry to be crafted, we start the crafting process in the studio. This may normally take around 2-3 weeks depending on the complexity of your piece and how many gemstones are to be set.
3. We then save 1-2 weeks for quality control and potential adjustments before shipping it to you.
Sometimes one or all three of these stages may go faster. This is why we sometimes can offer faster production than our standard delivery times! Please see next question.
What makes our delivery time long is the production time of your piece. If you are short on time, we offer a few options:
1. As you might know, we do not have a stock of jewelry ready to be shipped. However, as you might also know - we have a showroom filled with jewelry! These are all for show and meant to be seen and tried by customers, and usually we have only one piece of each style (please see our standard sizes below). However, to accomodate hurried orders, we offer you the possibility to buy a showroom ring, at the same price as a normal piece, and have it shipped to you within 2-3 days. Email us in advance by clicking the mail icon in the bottom right corner to see what jewelry we currently have in our showroom!
2. Email us in advance and ask what jewelry we can currently produce and deliver on short notice (1-3 weeks). In general, these include single stone rings and rings with diamonds. Other gemstones than diamonds may often take extra time to source, hence it is difficult to speed up this process.
Standard sizes of showroom rings:
For women, most of the showroom rings are in size 17,25/54 or 18 but there are also some smaller sizes. For men, the sizes of showroom rings ranges from 18,5-21. Many of the rings are possible to size adjust. Please note that size adjustments add a cost of 600 SEK/approx €60.
Yes! Each piece passes trough at least two very tough quality controls, before it is shipped to its new owner. This include controlling the colour and sparkle of the gemstone, the details of the stonesetting, the engravement inside the ring, the size, that there are no visible marks or scratches that has happened after we put the last finishing touches in the studio - and finally that the overall look of your jewelry is beautiful and stunning!
Have you received a product that is not what you expected or that doesn't match the above criterias? Please contact us immediately upon receiving your jewelry, at the email address you received when placing your order!
Common customisations of our existing jewelry include:
customising the width of the ring band
choosing a unique stone from our collection of handpicked, unique gemstones (we are very happy to send you pictures via email if you cannot come by our showroom)
customising the number of stones set in the ring band
choosing your own unique pattern in a Jade or Jade Petite Ring (see an example here!)
Please email us by clicking the mail icon in the bottom right corner if you would like to get started with customising a piece from our collection. We are happy to send you pictures of our current selection of gemstones, and examples of customisations we have done!
Unfortunately, here comes the boring answer: by trying it out in a jewelry shop. To know your true ring size - the size that feels comfortable and really find a ring that fits you perfectly - you need to try many rings on your finger andf feel what feels right for you. Some people love the rings a bit looser, while some want them to snug your finger. This is very personal and hence should be tried out carefully!
First of all - don't worry! Almost every ring can be adjusted in size. Please contact us immediately upon receiving your jewelry, at the email address you received when placing your order. For sizing adjustment, we charge a cost-based price of 600 SEK/approx €60.
However, for the rings with a product description that says "This jewelry is not possible to adjust the size of upon receiving your order", the resizing process will be more complicated in the studio and hence the price will be higher and is depended on the hours of work in the studio.
Yes, even our tiniest rings can be engraved! We use both laser engravement and customized engravement by hand.
When you place your order during a showroom visit, we offer complementary laser engravement. When you place your order online, you can add standard laser engravement to your order for 600 SEK/approx €60. We offer both letter and symbols. The fonts you can choose from are: straight, italics (kursiv) and script (skrivstil). The standard symbols available are: ♡, ∞ For other symbols please ask us and we may be able to accomodate it!
For customized engravement by hand, please contact us when placing your order! The price will vary depending on the complexity of the pattern of the engravement. The best thing with hand engravement is that you can engrave whatever you would like since it is made on free hand!
We have a no-cancellation policy due to the customised work of crafting a mumbaistockholm jewelry piece*. However, if you contact us within 24 hours after placing your order, we will be able to offer you a full refund and cancel your order. This holds for all orders placed online, in the showroom or via email.
You can usually make minor changes to your order, such as engravement, until we are in the studio stage of the crafting process, which is usually around 2-3 weeks after you placed your order.
*As soon as possible after your order is placed, we order the gold and the gemstone to the goldsmith studios. Then we start the crafting process.
We offer a lot of guidance and advice via email and in our showroom before the purchase, to avoid any over-spontaneous or wrong purchases. Please contact us by clicking the mail icon in the bottom right corner to get a Personal Jewelry Shopper onboard!
Please note that this is the time it takes from the day you received your "Your order is shipped!"-email until the package reaches your pick-up point. This does not include the production time in the studio.

The customs clearance process can usually be sped up if you contact the customs as soon as the parcel arrived to your country.
Yes! All our parcels are fully insured until you have the jewelry in your hand. This means that, in the unlikely event of the parcel getting lost during shipping, we will take full responsibility to replace your order.

Oh no! We do everything we can to make you happy. Most often we can make adjustments that will change the fit or the look of your jewelry so you will fall in love with it!
Before shipping a jewelry piece to a customer, it passes trough at least two very tough quality controls. This include controlling the colour and sparkle of the gemstone, the details of the stonesetting, the engravement inside the ring, the size, that there are no visible marks or scratches that has happened after we put the last finishing touches in the studio - and finally that the overall look of your jewelry is beautiful and stunning!
If you feel the your jewelry doesn't match these criterias - do not hesitate to contact us immediately upon receiving your jewelry, at the email address you received when placing your order.
We offer a life-long warranty on manufacturing faults for all mumbaistockholm jewelry pieces. This include that the gold, the designs and the gemstones holds a certain quality. mumbaistockholm jewelry is meant to be worn!
Gold and precious gemstones are all natural materials - meaning that they do respond to external pressures. If you are about to engage in an activity where you feel that your jewelry might be in the way - then it is probably a sign that you should take it off during this activity!
Having said this - fine jewelry should be worn and loved!
From time to time, we receive jewelry from customers who have got stuck in doorframes, forgot to take rings off during boxing or simply been wearing it in situations so that the ring isn't - well - exactly new anymore! Don’t worry! In almost all cases we only need a couple of weeks in the studio and the jewelry will look brand new again. We’d rather have you wear the jewelry - than worrying about it.
Depending on what needs to be done, this service doesn’t cost anything, however if you loose a large stone for example, you will need to pay for the replacement of the stone.
Please note that the above mentioned service - and any eventual cost that incurs - is a subject of a case by case assessment by us (mumbaistockholm AB) as it is not a manufacturing fault and hence not covered by the warranty.
However, we can proudly say that the majority of our customers praise us for our very personal, high-level service - to help you is our biggest priority!
Most pieces are covered by your normal home insurance - however, please contact your insurance company to make sure that you are completely covered. They will tell you details such as what the highest allowed value for a single jewelry piece is.
For example; you might be insured for a total value of your jewelry collection summing up to €30 000, but with a single jewelry piece allowed to be worth at the most €2500 for the home insurance to hold. Then you might need to add an extra insurance on top of that, to insure certain high-value jewelry pieces separately. Most often your home insurance will be able to guide you on this, and might as well offer this extra insurance.
These are important details that your insurance company will help you with, to make sure that you are fully insured and safe! The most important thing is that you feel free and happy to wear your jewelry at any time.
