They say that the New Nomad is endlessly curious, always connected, thoughtful, and conscious. The New Nomads are not the 1960s bohemians seeking to drop out of society. Rather, the New Nomad is tuning in. They travel to better understand the world around them - not to “escape everyday life”. With much of the world within reach, they are turning their journey inwards to become explorers of themselves.
WHY MEDITATION IS THE
NEW WAY OF TRAVELING
In the life of a traveller, there’s no worrying about past events. No anxious thoughts about the future. No irritating tasks occupy the mind (such as the dishes). You don't look around the room only to see things that need to be fixed (I'm looking at you broken light bulb).
You are in the present. This is happinness.
The New Nomads know all this. They have experienced it themselves. They know that when you travel, you:
- are in the present
- make the most out of every moment
- let your senses guide you
- see the future as full of possibilities
The New Nomads are not the usual travelers.
They travel to find, engage and connect - while making as low impact as possible. They travel spontaneously and irregularly, and may spend two days, three months, or two years in the same place. They travel with their children, with like-minded communities (who become their families if they don’t have one), and solo. They are always looking for ways to travel smarter, better, healthier. They see the connection between personal and planetary health, and they take it seriously. For them, there’s a larger goal to the 25€ meditation class and the pricey, local tomatoes. The New Nomads don’t look for the cheapest hostels - they look as to how to support the eco-friendly lodge. They are pioneering “eco-friendly”, and defining it.
The New Nomads know that you are always the answer. They know that there is a price on nature and that inner peace is expensive: it requires your time, thought and commitment.
They travel to tune into their surroundings and better understand the world around them. They seek new skills, authenticity, and to let their spirits free. They prioritize themselves and don’t compromise on their own happinness. Mindfulness is their religion.
Since the world is not foreign to them, the New Nomads are turning their journey inwards to become explorer of themselves. Which, ironically, enable them to find a more profound connection with our planet.
This is the new era of travel.
