Things To Keep In Mind

Coloured gemstones or diamonds?

Many people come to us because they love coloured gemstones. But keep in mind that coloured stones are more fragile, and require more care and maintenance than diamond jewelry to stay beautiful.

For example, they more easily become "foggy" from dirt when you use them - and it can therefore be a good idea to invest in your own jewelry bath.

Are you used to wearing fine jewelry?

After custom making jewelry for almost ten years, we have gained some experience that we would like to share with you. One of the most important is this:

If you don't wear fine jewelry today, we recommend that you start by wearing jewelry from our regular collection before you customize a unique piece. Then you learn what you like - and also how you enjoy wearing your jewelry.

Although we draw up carefully beforehand, and you get to see and feel the stone before we start, it is often difficult to visualize how the final piece of jewelry will feel if you have not previously worn precious jewelry.

Are you customizing for someone else?

It is different to customize for someone else than for yourself, because now you are two people who needs to love the jewelry - you and the person who will wear it.

There is a lot extra to take into account when you are not going to wear the jewelry yourself, because it is not so easy to make changes afterwards when the jewelry is finished.

Do a lot of good research beforehand about the person's taste in jewelry and how the person wears jewelry today.

Purpose:

This woman came to our showroom with her husband to create a custom ring in the toi et moi style. She wasn't sure about the colour combination from the beginning but knew that she wanted the ring to be completely unique - and preferably vintage-inspired. Hence the wonderful milligriff decor!
